KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- After winning the Dutch International Series in April, young women's singles shuttler Myisha Mohd Khairul now has another important mission, that is ending the 2022 season on a high note.

Myisha, who represented the country at the 2022 Uber Cup in Bangkok, in May, dreams of winning the gold medal for Johor at the 20th Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2022 that will be held in the Klang Valley from Sept 16 to 24.

“Although having competed in the 2016 and 2018 editions, I have never won the gold medal.

"My best achievement was only in 2018 in Ipoh, where I was eliminated in the second round by national women's doubles player, M. Thinaah who was playing for Selangor in the women's singles category at the time," she told Bernama recently.

The 20-year-old, who will be making her final Sukma appearance at this edition, said that she is working hard to strengthen herself in an effort to win her first and last gold at the Games.

Ranked 201 in the world, however, she is not taking lightly the challenge players from other states will pose, especially K. Letshanaa from Selangor.

"There are many players like Letshanaa who just turned national shuttlers, I don't know how she and the other players train, so I can't be over confident and hope to give my best," she said.

.Letshanaa, who was under the umbrella of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), decided to leave the parent body following a back injury she suffered in February.

In the meantime, Myisha informed that she is likely to participate in an international series that will be held in Perak, this November.
